My Husband and I Worked Less to Help with My Stress

When I became pregnant I was 23. I was young but married. I was so scared because I was not ready for a child yet-I had just gotten married!
I suffered with depression through the whole pregnancy-which I was told was from the hormones. Even after my baby girl was born I still suffered. I felt like I had it the worse-more than any other mother. I was trying to balance my marriage-which was completely failing because of my moods. I was trying to keep my job as a policewoman, and take care of my baby! I knew that something needed to change or someone in my life was not going to win.
I talked with my husband for a very long time about it and he and I came up with an agreement. He and I would both put in less hours at work, but rotate them so we could spend time with our child and each other. This cut back on my stress enormously-probably because I was spending time with someone who was helping me and cared about me, and also because I was taking care of my precious baby. Looking back on this I would not give up my little girl, or change a thing.
Everything happens for a reason.
